Mitochondrial research compounds
Mitochondria have their own small genome. Beyond the proteins of the respiratory chain, it carries short open reading frames that encode signaling peptides, known as mitochondrial-derived peptides. Mitochondrial research also relies on well-defined cofactors. This family groups the catalog listings used in both areas.
MOTS-c mitochondrial-derived peptide (10mg and 20mg) is a 16-residue peptide (MRWQEMGYIFYPRKLR) encoded by a short open reading frame within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA region, first reported by Lee et al. in Cell Metabolism in 2015 [1]. PubChem lists it as C101H152N28O22S2, 2174.6 g/mol (CID 146675088) [2]. Later work in cell models reported that MOTS-c can move to the nucleus under metabolic stress and is associated with changes in nuclear gene expression [3]. Our article What is MOTS-c? Structure and published research summarizes the cell and mouse-model literature.
NAD+ research-grade standard (500mg and 1000mg) is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a redox cofactor used in enzyme assays and as an analytical reference standard. PubChem lists it as C21H27N7O14P2, 663.4 g/mol (CID 5892) [4]. Our NAD+ research note covers its laboratory uses.
These listings are laboratory reagents, not supplements. Published studies cited here used cell cultures and animal models, and they describe research questions rather than established outcomes. Lab COA PDFs are published per product in our COA library, and safety data sheets are on the SDS page. For laboratory research use only.
